Bamboo value Chain and enterprise Development

Bamboo, often referred to as “green gold,” is a fast-growing, versatile, and sustainable plant with a broad range of applications across various industries. From construction materials and textiles to biofuels and paper products, bamboo has gained increasing attention globally due to its environmental benefits and economic potential. The bamboo value chain is a series of processes that transform raw bamboo into finished products, creating opportunities for enterprise development at various stages.
We have been involved in Bamboo Baseline Surveys, formulation of building and construction codes for standardization. Research and development of bamboo as a replacement for steel and plastics and in electronic and care accessories and as an alternative for cotton and silk in fabric manufacturing.

Sisal Market Regeneration and development

The sisal value chain represents an essential component of sustainable economic development in many regions, especially in rural areas. From cultivation to processing, marketing, and enterprise development, each stage offers potential for increasing income and creating jobs. By supporting smallholders, improving production techniques, and developing value-added products, the sisal industry can significantly contribute to inclusive economic growth, poverty alleviation, and environmental sustainability. However, continued investment in infrastructure, innovation, and market access will be essential for the future growth of the sisal value chain.
We were engaged in developing bulbin nursery development, Small holder farmer engagement, Organized groups Capacity Building, Sisal plantations upscaling, development and plantation management, Value addition and logistical smoothening.

Mulberry Value Chain and Enterprise development

Mulberry cultivation and the associated silk production industry have the potential to generate significant economic value, particularly in rural economies where employment opportunities may be limited. Our client Earthtree global engaged us in several aspects of enterprise development are linked to the mulberry value chain from: Mulberry value chain Baseline Survey, Quality seed sourcing and bulking, Smallholder farmer mobilization, contracting and engagement, Rural enterprise economy development, Sustainable practices, Product development and marketing.

Aloe Value Chain Development

Our latest project in aloe value chain has been the most challenging nad most painstaking. Aloe is a protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), listed on its Appendices I and II, which regulates international trade. Many national and regional environmental laws also protect aloes, particularly in Africa where most species are protected from wild harvesting without permits.
Our scope began thus from compliance, establishment of a 15-acre nursery, next phase will include farmer contracting and development of 10,000 hectares of aloe plantations, training and capacity building and market linkages.

Green Corporates

Every business operates in an environment provided and regulated by mother earth and which the not only affects their markets, people and bottom lines but which is also affected by their activities. Green Corporates Is a project for Corporates that acknowledge the value of a cooler, cleaner and sustainable environment adds to their businesses and who deliberately plan and act to make it better. This program encourages each corporate organization to GROW at least 1000 trees annually in a period of ten years. This concept emphasizes growing the trees as opposed to planting. In partnership with these corporates, HPK ensures that the trees are correctly planted and follows up to monitor and manage their growth and report progress quarterly
